These charming scenes portray Venus and Cupid, very popular characters during the 18th century, are the works of the gilder Baudoin Sr. and Charles Nicolas Dodin, a painter expert in depicting children. The latter's virtuosity made him the most sought after painter of the Sèvres workshops. The company entrusted him with its most prestigious orders such as the table of Madame du Barry and the service sets for Louis XVI.
