This shape refers to the Manufacture of Pont-aux-Choux created in 1748 in Paris and built on old ditches that became market gardeners, where cabbage was grown. The access to these cultures was done by a bridge from where the name of Pont-aux-Choux. It was in 1819 that the Manufacture de Gien acquired Pont-aux-Choux and its iconic "rice grain" tableware.
